Produziert von Olaf Opal ist „In die Nacht hinein“ ein Album, auf den Zeitgeist zugeschnitten, aber ohne sich anzubiedern. So als wolle man den Mainstream treffen. Gleichzeitig klingt es aber überhaupt nicht nach Erfolg, nach Zärtlichkeit, nach Kommerz. Dieses Paradox gelingt nur, weil alles verdreht ist. Als würde der Keller der leerstehenden Schlierseer Grundschule, in dem das Album arrangiert und aufgenommen wurde, sein kalt-abgestandenes Gemäuer auf die Songs
übertragen.

Die Welt ist im Umbruch und die Popmusik reagiert darauf. Um sich die Welt in dieser Nacht zu eigen zu machen, dafür liefert „Die Sauna“ ihren Generationsgenossen eine euphorische Anleitung.
